ADRIA

Originally from a small Central Texas town, Adria’s first opportunity to try a yoga class came while she was in college. She had never been what you might call an “exercise fanatic” and was pleasantly surprised that she could find such reward through movement. Gradually, Adria’s practice evolved beyond physical benefits, and she found that it was an effective tool for managing anxiety and depression that she had struggled with since childhood. After graduating from college and beginning a career in marketing, Adria briefly slipped away from her practice, returning to yoga in early 2012 after the birth of her first child. She discovered once again that a consistent practice was transformative, not only to combat her lower back pain but also to cultivate a sense of calm and balance in the midst of her busy day-to-day life.

Adria believes that yoga can be a therapeutic tool and that the practice can be customized to benefit everyone, regardless of age, physical condition, size or shape. She strives to create a safe and welcoming environment in her classes. Adria will encourage you to make the practice your own – to honor the needs of your mind and body. Many of us have busy, demanding lives; Adria’s classes allow time and space to slow down and practice self-care while creating flexibility and building strength.

Adria received her 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) certification from The Yoga Room’s therapeutic-influenced Hatha teacher training program in November 2015.

Before she began teaching yoga, Adria received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Texas A&M University (whoop!) and worked in high-tech marketing for five years. In recent years, Adria was a stay-at-home mom to her young daughter. In her spare time, she enjoys playing outdoors with her family, reading, and loving on her cats.
